The Road Safety Team sits within the Place and Sustainability Directorate and is a centre of excellence within the Council across road safety disciplines. The position would suit someone with existing knowledge of Road Safety Education, who is looking to expand on their current experience.
This is a front-facing role so you will need the ability and confidence to promote the work of the Road Safety Team within local communities. You will use your previous experience in Road Safety Education, Communications and Engagement to deliver community-based interventions that target road user behaviour and active travel in the county. This will include engaging with multiple partners and stakeholders across the emergency services, businesses, schools and other Council departments.
The Road Safety Team operates flexibly, with opportunities to work remotely as well as a central base in Huntingdon, but the ability to travel to different locations across the county is essential.
Interviews are due to be held on Wednesday 27 August 2025 at Stanton House, Huntingdon.
If you would like to discuss the opportunity further or have any queries, please do not hesitate to contact Ann Marie Bailey ann-marie.bailey@cambridgeshire.gov.uk
About youAs well as excellent communication skills, you will need good interpersonal skills with proven ability to negotiate and persuade. You will have experience of analysing data, producing & presenting reports and be able to use initiative to prioritise and manage your workload. A good working knowledge of road user behaviour, education, training and communications techniques, sustainable transport and health improvements would be an advantage.
