Role Overview
This is a dual role involving general retail duties as well as working at the Post Office counter. You will play an important part in delivering exceptional customer service, handling financial transactions, and ensuring the efficient day-to-day running of both areas.
Key Responsibilities
Retail Duties:
- Greet and assist customers in the shop in a friendly and professional manner
- Operate the till and handle sales transactions accurately
- Maintain a clean, tidy, and well-stocked store environment
- Assist with receiving, unpacking, and displaying stock
- Support promotional activity and in-store merchandising
- Work as part of a team to meet sales and service targets
Post Office Duties:
- Provide a range of Post Office services including mail, banking, and bill payments
- Accurately handle financial transactions and balance tills
- Ensure compliance with Post Office procedures and security protocols
- Deliver high standards of accuracy and confidentiality in all transactions
Key Skills & Requirements
- Previous experience in retail, customer service, or post office work (preferred)
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy, especially with money handling
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- A friendly, helpful, and professional attitude
- Ability to multitask and remain calm under pressure
- Comfortable using computer systems and electronic tills
- Willingness to learn and undertake training for Post Office systems and procedures
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and public holidays
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: £12.21 per hour
Expected hours: 20 – 30 per week
