Job Title: Residential Support Worker – Children’s Home
Location: Wednesbury, West Midlands
Salary: £28,000 – £31,000 per annum (dependent on experience and qualifications)
Job Type: Full-Time | Permanent | Shift Work (including evenings, weekends, and sleep-ins)
About the Role
Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of young people? We are looking for dedicated and compassionate Residential Support Workers to join our team at a well-established children’s home in Wednesbury.
You will play a key role in providing emotional and practical support to children and young people with complex needs, helping them feel safe, respected, and supported in a stable home environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Build positive, trusting relationships with children and young people
- Support day-to-day routines including education, activities, meals, and bedtimes
- Promote the physical and emotional well-being of the young people in your care
- Assist in the development of personalised care plans
- Manage challenging behaviour in a calm and consistent manner
- Maintain accurate records and contribute to reports
- Work closely with other professionals including social workers, therapists, and education staff
What We’re Looking For
- Experience working with children or young people in a care, support, or educational setting (preferred)
- NVQ Level 3 in Residential Childcare (or willingness to work towards it)
- A nurturing and resilient attitude with excellent communication skills
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
- A flexible approach to shift patterns including sleep-ins and weekends
- A full UK driving licence (preferred)
