About Us
Mary Seacole Housing Association provides safe, structured accommodation and personalised support for single homeless people aged 16–65. We create an environment where residents feel respected, supported, and empowered to take control of their future.
Our aim is to guide clients on their journey from dependence to independence — helping them develop the skills, confidence, and opportunities needed to live independently and thrive within the community.
Through training, volunteering, and life-skills activities, we work alongside our residents to break the cycle of homelessness and open the door to lasting stability.
The Role:
- Welcome residents and visitors, managing secure access to the building
- Monitor the premises, address incidents and emergencies or safeguarding concerns
- Carry out regular Health & Safety and security checks
- Communicate with Service Manager, Case Workers, and On-Call Support
- Provide a warm but professional presence supporting resident safety and wellbeing
Requirements:
- Professional, friendly demeanour and strong communication skills
- Reliable and committed to safeguarding vulnerable individuals
- Level 2 qualification or above in Health and Social Care (or equivalent) is required
Pre-Employment Checks:
- Enhanced DBS check required (free of charge)
- If you have lived overseas for more than 12 months in the last 10 years, criminal record checks from those countries are required (in addition to the DBS)
- We are unable to offer visa sponsorship for this role. Candidates must be able to provide valid documentation confirming their eligibility to work in the UK at the time of application.

Location: Luton, Bedfordshire
Hours: Monday–Friday, alternating rota 08:00–16:00 and 13:30–21:30

- A-Level or equivalent (required)
Experience:
- working in a residential setting: 2 years (required)
- working with vulnerable homeless individuals : 2 years (required)
Language:
- Fluent English (required)
