Residential Care Worker – Children & Young People

Salary: £25,735 – £27,575 per year (depending on qualifications and experience and inclusive of 6 sleep in payments)

Job Type: Full Time, Permanent
Location: Stoke-On-Trent

About the Role:

As a Residential Care Worker for Children & Young People, you will be a key support to the home's management team. You will help create opportunities for children and young people to achieve their goals and reach their full potential.

Your role will include supporting the wider team to promote the health, safety, and well-being of the young people in the home, in line with company policies and individual care plans. You will act as a positive role model to the children, helping to provide a nurturing, homely environment where they can thrive.

Key Responsibilities:

· Promote Well-being: Actively support the health, safety, and general well-being of the young people, ensuring their care plans are followed.

· Positive Role Model: Lead by example, creating a nurturing and homely atmosphere where young people can feel safe and supported.

· Achieve Potential: Enable the young people to pursue their personal goals and maximize their potential in all areas of life.

· Team Collaboration: Work closely with the management team to deliver a high standard of care to our children and young people.

Skills & Experience:

Qualifications:

· The Diploma Level 3 in Children and Young People or equivalent is preferred however if you don’t already have this, then we will enrol you on the course in order to update your skills and knowledge.

Experience:

· Experience working in a regulated children’s home is preferred, however not essential as full training and support will be given.

· A natural ability to work with children and young people, offering emotional support and guidance.

Personal Attributes:

· Caring, flexible, and resilient nature.

· Strong emotional intelligence, with a passion for helping others.

Flexibility:

· Ability to work shifts and participate in sleep-in duties as part of the role.

· Driving Licence – preferable
