Job Summary:
We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Removal Porter Driver to join our removals and logistics team. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving company vehicles, assisting with the loading, unloading, assembly and disassembly, and delivery of household or office items, and ensuring items are transported safely and efficiently. This role requires excellent customer service skills, physical stamina, and attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities:
- Drive the 3.5 Tonne company vehicle to and from residential or commercial locations.
- Assist in packing, loading, unloading, and unpacking furniture and goods.
- Ensure items are handled with care to prevent damage during transit.
- Navigate routes efficiently using maps or GPS systems.
- Communicate professionally with customers and team members on-site.
- Carry out pre- and post-trip vehicle checks and report any issues or maintenance needs.
- Maintain cleanliness and safety of the vehicle and loading equipment.
- Follow all health and safety regulations and company policies.
Requirements:
- Standard Valid Full UK driving licence.
- Previous experience in removals, driving, or a similar manual handling role is desirable.
- Ability to lift and carry heavy items safely (manual handling training an advantage).
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Punctual, reliable, and well-presented.
- Flexible with working hours, including weekends or early starts if required.
- Basic understanding of GPS systems and route planning.
Working Conditions:
- Physically demanding role involving lifting, bending, and moving heavy items.
- May involve long hours, early starts, or weekend shifts depending on job schedules.
- Work is performed both indoors and outdoors, sometimes in varying weather conditions.
