Position: Receptionist - Part Time
Average Hours per Week: 25.75
Contract: Permanent, Part-Time
Shift Pattern: Monday-Thursday (24hrs over 4 days). Working shifts 08:00-14:00, 13:00-19:00. Plus 1 in 4 Sunday (7hrs) 07:00-15:00.
2x Bank Holidays per annum, 1 covering Christmas or New Year (alternates each year).
Salary: £16844.62
Purpose of Position:
The Receptionist is the link between the clinical team and our amazing clients and patients. As a receptionist you are expected to run the reception desk with organisation, professionalism, compassion and maturity.
In this role you will provide a high standard of customer service and support our clinical teams.
Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
- Keeping front of house, dispensary and consult rooms clean and tidy at all times.
- Ensuring all consult rooms are suitably stocked.
- Answer telephone calls and deal with nature of call accordingly, including emergency telephone line.
- Handling client queries in correct manner.
- Ensuring good communication between front desk and clinical team
- Alert the veterinary surgeon and/or veterinary nurse to any emergencies that arise.
- Complete any necessary paperwork, including consent forms, etc.
- Managing float, taking payments and completing Day Book.
- Various administration duties include: Direct Claim Set ups / Scanning paperwork to file / Emailing Client Practices case reports/ histories / End of Day banking
- Adhering to strict GDPR policies.
- Ensuring smooth hand over to the next team
- Supporting clinical teams where necessary
- Other duties as and when necessary. At quiet times, please offer assistance wherever needed.
To be considered for this role, you will need to demonstrate proven reception experience (or similar) and hold strong administration, organisational and customer service skills. Previous experience in Veterinary Industry is desired but not essential.

Requirements
- Previous experience in a reception or administrative role is preferred.
- Familiarity with veterinary or medical environments is advantageous.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a strong customer service orientation.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to multitask effectively in a busy environment.
- Proficiency in using office software and equipment, including telephone systems and computers.
- A positive attitude with a willingness to learn and adapt to new challenges.
