Overview are currently seeking a detail-oriented and methodical Purchase Ledger Assistant to join our Finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a solid understanding of purchase ledger processes and a keen eye for accuracy to play a vital role in ensuring the smooth and efficient handling of supplier invoices and payments. Please note: The salary advertised is the full-time equivalent. The exact hours/days can be negotiated, but we are expecting around 20 hours per week.
Key Responsibilities
- Accurately record and post purchase invoices
- Resolve invoice queries by working closely with relevant departments and stakeholders, ensuring all queries are resolved in a timely manner
- Reconcile supplier statements with company accounting records, ensuring accurate records are maintained and discrepancies are identified
- Assist with month-end processes, reporting, and any other finance tasks as required
- Support the year-end audit process
- Provide support and cover for the office administration functions
Key Skills and Qualifications
Mandatory
- Good working knowledge of MS Office
- Good understanding of sales and purchase ledger processes and basic accounting principles
- Tenacious & persistent Preferred
- Previous experience in using an ERP system
- Previous experience in a similar manufacturing environment
Personal Attributes
- Good communication skills with a high level of spoken and written English and the ability to manage relationships with all stakeholders
- Methodical and detail-driven
- Ability to work unsupervised and prioritise own workload

Most of our interviews will take place over one or two stages, typically a phone/teams interview followed by a face-to-face interview on-site. We do ask all candidates who are coming to a face-to-face interview to carry out a short Psychometric assessment to help us understand how you tick!
