Project Leader
What you’ll be doing
Are you ready to lead impactful projects at the heart of UK democracy? The UK Parliament is seeking a Project Leader to join the Strategic Estates team, delivering a wide range of capital investment projects across the Palace of Westminster and the wider Parliamentary Estate. This is a unique opportunity to work on a UNESCO World Heritage Site, balancing conservation with innovation to support the evolving needs of Parliament.
As a Project Leader, you’ll oversee the full lifecycle of refurbishment, conservation, and construction projects, from initial planning through to completion. You will work closely with internal stakeholders, including Members of Parliament and the House of Lords, as well as external consultants and contractors to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards. With a portfolio valued at over £2 billion, this role offers the chance to make a tangible difference in one of the most iconic institutions in the world.
This role is offered on a hybrid working basis, with an expectation of you spending 40% of your time in the office.

What we’re looking for
We’re seeking proactive, collaborative professionals who are passionate about delivering high-quality projects in a complex and historic environment. You’ll thrive in this role if you bring:
- A relevant technical qualification (Level 4 or above) or equivalent experience, ideally working towards chartership (e.g., RICS, CIOB, APM)
- Experience managing construction, refurbishment, or property-related projects from feasibility through to delivery and handover
- A strong understanding of project planning, risk management, and stakeholder engagement in a public or regulated environment
- The ability to interpret and challenge project briefs, develop business cases, and manage budgets and KPIs effectively
- A collaborative and customer-focused mindset, with the ability to build strong relationships across diverse teams and stakeholders
