Job title: Project Accountant Assistant

Salary: £35,047
What you’ll be doing:
Assist in the production of timely insights, analysis and business intelligence to drive performance and support timely working capital cycle for projects
Assist in the delivery of accurate month end management reporting, on time, including; Project reporting outputs, Monthly management reporting with analysis and insights analysing in-year financial performance
Assist project teams, including initial setup, raising claims, forecasting cash, foreign currency hedge management, order book management, reporting and analysis
Operate robust and effective financial controls in line with Financial Control Framework and Finance Policies manual. Support external and internal audit as required
Contribute towards identifying and delivering improvements to processes within Project Finance. Support ongoing Finance Modernisation activity, in particular digital reporting improvements
Contribute towards system improvements and embrace change towards a data-centric and digital culture
Ensure own skills and experience are matched with business demands, and ensuring collaborative working relationships with stakeholders are maintained
Your skills and experiences:
Essential:
Studying towards a recognised professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, ICAEW). (Please note: AAT is not accepted for this role)
Previous accounting experience, with an eagerness to develop skills in Project Finance, financial forecasting, and reporting
Confident using Microsoft Office tools, especially Excel
Some knowledge of accounting processes and systems, with a willingness to learn and grow further
An interest in understanding the wider business and how your role contributes to delivering value
Able to recognise when processes or systems aren’t working as expected and take appropriate action
Familiar with local procedures and able to select suitable solutions to day-to-day problems
Desirable:
Know and understand stakeholders (internal and external) and ensure the relationship is maintained and enhanced
Develop experience of using MRPs or ERPs (e.g. SAP, Infor LN) and financial reporting, forecasting and analytical tools (e.g. Cognos, Tableau)
