Job Description:
As a Press Brake Operator, you will play a crucial role in the production process, operating and setting up press brake machinery to form metal parts and components. You will be expected to work from technical drawings and specifications to ensure high-quality outputs that meet project requirements.
Location: Chard
Working hours – Monday to Thursday 8am - 4.30pm and Friday 8am – 2pm, 38 hrs per week
Pay - £13.50 to £14.00 an hour
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate press brake machinery to bend, shape, and form metal components.
- Set up the press brake machine, including tooling and adjustments, for specific jobs.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings to meet required tolerances and specifications.
- Conduct quality checks to ensure parts meet exact measurements and standards.
- Maintain equipment, ensuring it is in safe and efficient working condition.
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet production goals.
- Adhere to health and safety regulations within the workplace.
- Proven experience operating and setting up press brake machines (preferred); however training will be provided for the right candidate.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and work to precise measurements.
- Engineering background is essential
- Strong attention to detail and quality-focused mindset.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Physical stamina to handle the demands of the role.
