An exciting opportunity has arisen for an individual to join the Corporate Nursing and Midwifery Practice Education team and work within the integrated practice education facilitator (PEF) and care home education facilitator (CHEF) service across the Health Board area.
Practice education and the PEF/CHEF service is primarily about making positive impacts on the experiences and outcomes of patients and those who access health and care services in Scotland. The role of the PEF/CHEF is focused on a whole systems approach to creating an improved learning environment and enhancing the quality of the practice learning experience. You will contribute to enhancing the quality of the practice learning environment by providing learning support, educational input and development activities for the current and future nursing and midwifery workforce.
You will also facilitate practice education developments (practice learning) that support nurses and midwives to make the necessary changes in their practice, as required by the profession, to deliver safe, effective and person-centred practice. This post will work in partnership with practice and education colleagues supporting and facilitating shared learning and collaborative working across NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde, Care Home practice learning environments and other contemporary health and care environments.
We are seeking enthusiastic registered nurses (from all fields of nursing) and midwives with current NMC registration and evidence of experience in relation to the role. You should be educated to degree level and be able to demonstrate knowledge and understanding of contemporary nursing and midwifery practice and nursing and midwifery education. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and an ability to form positive working relationships and work strategically with others is required. You should also be able to demonstrate an excellent level in the use of digital technology, information systems and email. Having a NMC recordable Lecturer/Practice Educator/Teacher qualification or working towards a higher degree would be desirable. Evidence of application of leadership skills including negotiation, influencing and persuading, facilitating and conflict resolution, excellent communication skills and an ability to engage and work collaboratively with others to ensure education which is fit for purpose/practice, is required to balance competing demands.
