JOB DESCRIPTION
Overview
We are seeking an enthusiastic, reliable and skilled plant operator to join our team to carry out recycling operations. In addition to also carry out grab lorry work in and around Norfolk as required delivering aggregates, removing inert spoil and transporting it to our recycling centre or to landfill. Previous experience as a grab driver preferred, but not essential
You must have class 2 HGV. Class 1 would be an advantage. References essential.
Training will be given for relevant Crane and Plant Operation Tickets if not held by applicant
Experience with other Plant Operations would be an advantage
Working hours for this role will be a 10hr shift, Monday to Friday, between 07.00 and 17.00. Entitlement to a 45 minute break each day. Flexible approach to working time required
Responsibilities
- Operation of plant to carry out recycling of soils and hardcore, this includes 360 operations, loading shovel operations, crushing and screening of materials
- Operate grab lorries to deliver aggregates and remove inert spoil at designated locations.
- Ensure the safe loading and unloading of products, adhering to weight limits and safety regulations.
- Conduct pre-trip inspections of vehicles to ensure they are in good working condition.
- Completion of relevant documentation to include delivery / collection notes, waste transfer notes
- Adhere to all traffic laws and company policies while on the road.
Skills & Qualifications
- Preferable to have CPCS, CSCS or NPORS, but not necessary as training can be provided
- Proven experience in commercial driving, with a valid driving licence appropriate for the vehicle type.
- Ideal candidate will have experience operating a Grab Lorry, but not essential as training can be given
- Valid CPC
- Class 2 licence
- Completing walk around checks ensuring vehicles are roadworthy at all times
- · A good team player with flexible attitude
- · Good customer service skills as you will be representing the company on customer sites
- · Good communication skills with the ability to communicate on all levels
- · Good geographical knowledge of Norfolk helpful (our area of business is predominantly Norfolk)
- · Reliable and a good timekeeper
- · Must be a team player with the ability to use own initiative
