We are seeking a dedicated and proactive Placement Officer to join our team. This is a vital role in ensuring that children and young people receive timely, appropriate, and high-quality placements that meet their individual needs.
As a Placement Officer, you will work closely with social workers, providers, and other professionals to source and coordinate placements, ensuring that all decisions are made in the best interests of the child. You will be part of a supportive team committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
As one of our Placement Officers, you will source and secure suitable placements for children and young people in care, within required timescales. This will include liaising with internal teams and external providers to ensure placement stability and quality. You will maintain accurate records using IT systems such as ICS (Liquidlogic) and Microsoft Office. And apply trauma-informed care principles in all aspects of placement planning and decision-making.
You will need to be able to manage multiple priorities and respond effectively under pressure, as you will be negotiating placement terms and coordinating logistics with providers and stakeholders, whilst ensuring compliance with all safeguarding policies and procedures.
As one of our Placement Officers, you will have proven experience in a Placement/Brokerage, Commissioning, or working within the public sector environment. You will have a strong understanding of trauma-informed care and its application in children’s services, as well as excellent communication, negotiation, and coordination skills. You will possess the ability to prioritise effectively and remain flexible in a fast-paced environment, being IT proficient, with experience using Microsoft Office and ICS (Liquidlogic).
This is currently a hybrid working role (minimum of three days in the office. This is subject to organisational priorities, as this may change in the future and revert to full time in the office.
