Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Pharmacy Assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting the pharmacy operations by assisting pharmacists in providing excellent patient care and ensuring the safe and efficient dispensing of medications. This position requires a strong focus on customer service, attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of pharmaceutical practice.
Duties
- Assist pharmacists in the preparation and dispensing of medications, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulations.
- Provide exceptional patient care by answering queries, offering advice on over-the-counter products, and addressing patient concerns.
- Maintain an organised and clean pharmacy environment, including managing inventory levels and restocking shelves as necessary.
- Assist with administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, and managing patient records.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes and medication management.
- Ensure the smooth running of the pharmacy
- Be able to greet customers and effectively handle their query
- Maintain stock control within the pharmacy
- Ensure accurate handling of medicines and prescriptions
- Excellent interpersonal skills and customer service skills

Requirements
- Previous experience as a Pharmacy Assistant or in a similar retail role is preferred but not essential; training will be provided.
- Strong understanding of medication administration practices and pharmacy operations.
- Excellent communication skills with a focus on patient care and customer service.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
- Familiarity with pharmacy software systems is advantageous but not mandatory.

Experience Required..
You must have some retail experience with experience of working in a pharmacy preferred but not necessary as full training will be provided.
Hours Worked
Friday 8:30pm - 6pm (one hour lunch)
Saturday 9-5pm (1 in 4 off) (half hour lunch)
Total weekly hours - 16 hrs (3 weeks out of 4) / 8.5hours (1 week in 4)
