Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Pharmacy Dispenser to join our team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring that patients receive their medications safely and effectively. You will work closely with pharmacists and other healthcare professionals to provide exceptional patient care and support the overall operation of the pharmacy.
Responsibilities
- Accurately dispense medications as per prescriptions while adhering to all legal and regulatory requirements.
- Assist in the preparation of medication, including counting, measuring, and mixing as necessary.
- Provide excellent patient care by answering queries regarding medications, dosages, and potential side effects.
- Maintain accurate records of medication dispensed and ensure proper storage of pharmaceuticals.
- Collaborate with pharmacists to manage inventory levels and assist in ordering supplies when needed.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations within the pharmacy environment.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance skills and knowledge in pharmacy practices.
Skills
- Strong background in patient care, demonstrating empathy and understanding towards patients' needs.
- Previous experience as a Pharmacy Technician is highly desirable, showcasing familiarity with pharmacy operations.
- Proficient in medication administration, ensuring accuracy and safety in dispensing practices.
- Excellent attention to detail with strong organisational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact positively with patients and healthcare professionals.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while also being self-motivated.
