Job Description
The role of the Personal Tax Trainee is to support the Tax Department and gain experience whilst studying towards the ATT qualification.
The role will include both general tax compliance work, office administration, as well as taking on the responsibility of processing self-assessment tax returns from within a portfolio of clients.
Duties will include:
- Assisting with Tax Compliance including preparation of personal tax returns, and company benefits forms P11D, and liaising with HMRC regarding clients’ tax affairs
- Overseeing ad hoc administrative duties within the department
- Assisting colleagues and directors with queries and projects
- Liaising with clients and colleagues
- Dealing with correspondence from HMRC on various client matters
Experience
- A foundational understanding of financial accounting principles is preferred.
- Familiarity with accounting software (QuickBooks, Sage, Xero) will be advantageous.
- Previous experience or coursework in financial services or related fields is beneficial but not essential.
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail are crucial for success in this role.
- A willingness to learn and adapt within a fast-paced environment is highly valued.
