About the Direct Payment Holder
A dedicated and reliable Personal Assistant (PA) is required to provide ad hoc cover for the existing care team supporting a 7-year-old girl with physical and learning disabilities.
The PA will also need to take her 9-year-old brother to and from school, a short five-minute walk from the family home. The father, a working widower, relies on consistent and dependable support to maintain his employment while ensuring his daughter receives the care she needs.
Hours and rate of pay
£13-£14 per hour - 6 hours per day during term time, 9 hours per day during school holidays (as needed for cover)
Days: Monday to Friday (mornings and afternoons, as required)
Location
Hemel Hempstead (HP3)
DBS/Checks
Confirmation of DBS check
Right to Work and references will be needed.
Training
Training will be offered to enable to complete the mandatory training required:
- Safeguarding Children
- Introduction to Paediatric first aid
- Health and Safety / Moving and handling
What you would be doing…

Assisting with morning routine: breakfast, medication, personal care, dressing, and preparing for school.
Providing after-school care: preparing meals, administering water and medication, and engaging in social interaction.
Using hoist systems to support mobility.
Administering fluids and medication via a tummy peg (training available).
Escorting the 9-year-old brother to and from school.
Required skills and experience
Experience in providing personal care.
Willingness to use slings, hoists, and assistive equipment (training can be provided).
A non-smoker.
A valid driving licence (own vehicle not required).
A caring, practical, and reliable approach to childcare.
