Netley Abbey and on the other by the Royal Victoria Country Park, the Parish of Hound is steeped in history and charged with ambition for the future!
Twelve residents of Netley and Butlocks Heath volunteer as parish councillors to make up our council. We are now looking for a Parish Clerk to join us who has a real passion to maintain and develop the parish whilst protecting the outstanding area in which we live.

About the role
To act as the strategic lead to deliver the Council’s objectives and priorities.
Be the Council’s principal policy adviser in order to support the delivery of excellent services in accordance with Council policy, budgetary and statutory requirements.
Provide the overarching managerial framework to ensure effectiveness in service development and delivery and act as an advocate for the Council at local and regional level.
Act as the Responsible Financial Officer (RFO) to the Council as required by the Accounts and Audit Regulation 1996.
Act as the Council’s principal adviser to the leadership of the Council on policy options.

Pay: NJC Salary Grade M to N - Spinal Column Points 34 to 39, current rates £43,693 to £48,710 per year.
Expected hours: 37 per week with some out of hours working
Qualifications
- Use of an extensive range of IT applications, including; Word, Excel and PC accounting systems.
- Knowledge of the roles of local government.
- Managing a budget using IT base financial systems.
- Produce agendas and minutes.
- Knowledge of local government procurement legislation.
