SUMMARY OF ROLE:
To operate one or more paper bag making machine in order to achieve to the agreed performance targets; measured using the following Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) output, efficiency and downtown.
To ensure the safe, consistent and effective running of production machines.
To maintain Company policies and procedures in compliance with Health & Safety, Quality, Hygiene and other external regulatory standards.
To support the implementation of agreed strategic activities.
KEY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Machines are run at agreed standards – budget targets
· Setting and maintaining the machine to produce product which meets customer and internal quality standards; as defined by Customer Product Specification (CPS)
· Ensuring machines are operated safely and efficiently
· Highlight potential H&S risks Immediately to supervisor or relevant member of staff
· Machine lubrication is completed to schedule
· Support plant maintenance, TPM and 6s activities
· Maintenance activity (as agreed with Engineering and Production management) example: confirm bolts are tight and machine is lubricated
· Cover breaks on other production machines - when required
· Checking adherence to daily lubrication schedules
· Assist in the training of new hire employees – when required
· Enter relevant data into OEE system
· Complete relevant sections of production timesheet in an accurate and legible manner
· Preform full machine wash up – in a safe and efficient manner
· Comply with all company procedures for ISO, BRC and other internal and external audits exist at all times.
· Work with the Continuous Improvement Team to identify, develop and apply efficiency improvement opportunities
· Demonstrate good housekeeping by ensuring machine, machine area and tool cabinet are in good order, clean and tidy
· Maintain disciplines in wearing of PPE and Hygiene compliance
· Perform other tasks as may be required

EXPERIENCE and EDUCATION GUIDELINES:
· Experience of mechanical work or basic engineering principles
· Ideally (but not essential) will hold an NC/HNC type qualification in a mechanical or technical discipline
· Experience of working a high volume manufacturing environment - preferable
· Team player with Positive attitude
· Good written and verbal communications skills
