Operations Assistant with potential to progress to Holiday Coordinator
Full-time, Tintern. Office-based to start, then gradually hybrid (up to 2 WFH days)
From £12.50 per hour, plus performance bonus, training and travel opportunities
Are you organised, accurate and calm under pressure? Do you take pride in doing things properly and enjoy helping others succeed? We are looking for a full-time Operations Assistant to join our small, dedicated team delivering exceptional walking holidays across the UK and Europe.
This role is perfect for someone who thrives on detail, enjoys variety and is passionate about making things run smoothly. For the right person, there is genuine scope to progress swiftly to a Holiday Coordinator role where you would take ownership of holidays from start to finish.
The Role
You will support our experienced team behind the scenes, helping to organise the practical elements of our walking holidays.
Key tasks include:
- Booking accommodation and arranging luggage transfers
- Updating supplier rates, availability and records
- Making payments to accommodation and transport providers
- Managing cancellations and schedule changes
- Providing telephone support to walkers on the trail
- Liaising with B&Bs, hotels and taxi firms
- Helping with general office tasks and process improvements
Progression pathway: As your knowledge grows, you could swiftly take on more responsibility, working directly with clients, shaping itineraries and managing your own portfolio of holidays as a Holiday Coordinator.
The role is full-time in the office initially. Once training is complete, you may move to one day working from home per week, increasing to two days after around nine months if the role is a good fit.
We are looking for someone who is:
- Accurate and detail-focused
- Organised and proactive
- Calm and clear in communication
- Positive, empathetic and team-minded
- Willing to ask questions and learn from others
- Comfortable using IT and working in a digital environment
- Genuinely interested in travel, walking or the outdoors
Previous experience in admin, travel or operations is helpful but not essential. Your mindset and willingness to learn are what matter most.
Why join us?
- Supportive, close-knit team where your voice will be heard
- Beautiful rural office setting with walks in every direction
- Performance bonus scheme
- Paid day off on your birthday
- Occasional FAM trips to explore new walks and destinations
- Staff discount, casual dress and a friendly office dog
- Half-hour paid lunch break
- Clear pathway to a Holiday Coordinator role for the right person
