ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The primary purpose of the Operations Assistant is to support the efficient running of the flying school, by handling communications with student pilots, processing bookings, scheduling the fleet, and managing the student accounts, including invoicing.
We pride ourselves in giving our customer a great service, and as an Operations Assistant you will manage the majority of the interaction with our visitors. This will include dealing with people by email, on the phone, and face to face.
Customer Service
- Dealing with customer enquiries in a timely manner.
- Ensuring processes are followed to manage the customer experience appropriately.
- Administration of all customer records (Email, Cloudbase GA, training records) ensuring good attention to detail, accurate invoicing and student training records.
- Advising new customers on training courses and costs.
Operations
- Scheduling of the fleet and instructors to maximise efficiency and productivity.
- Liaison with maintenance providers, and scheduling of ferry flights to/from maintenance activities.
- Ensuring regular aircraft checks are conducted / updates to databases.
- Working with instructors to agree scheduling and provide good availability for students.
- AOG recovery, rescheduling aircraft, instructors and student to ensure minimum disruption.
Administration
- Ensure the offices are kept clean and tidy
- Organisation of premises maintenance via Airport Admin office where required
- Ordering of supplies and stock to facilitate the running of the office (stationery, kitchen etc)
PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES
- A passion for Aviation
- The ability to work under pressure on your own and in a small team.
- A confident communicator, both spoken and written
- A great personality, able to build relationships with Aerodrome users, potential customers, outside agencies, and the Blackbushe Airport team.
- An entrepreneurial attitude, able to problem solve and innovate.
SKILLS
- A background in aviation or training would be helpful, as would experience or knowledge of Blackbushe.
- Proficient in the Microsoft Office package including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Training will be provided on the CloudbaseGA system for administering flying school records and billing.
SHIFT SYSTEM
- We work a shift system covering the published hours of the flying school, which are 0800 – 1830, 7 days a week. There will be a mix of early, day and late shifts.
- The late shift may be required in the winter months to work later where there are Night Ratings being flown, and so shift times may be altered.
- The roster pattern is published 12 months ahead, allowing staff to plan their personal lives, and gives certainty around weekends off. The role requires working weekends
Role Requirements
- Due to the rural location of the role, you will need your own transport.
- You must also provide evidence that you are legally entitled to work in the UK.
REMUNERATION PACKAGE & BENEFITS
- The current salary is £25,000 per annum based on 4.25 days per week.
- Holiday Entitlement is 24 shifts per year which includes an allowance for Bank Holidays. The school is closed on Christmas Day and Boxing Day.
