We are looking for a full-time Apprentice Early Years Practitioner to join our enthusiastic and motivated team. Our ideal candidate will work towards an SVQ in Social Services (Children and Young People) with our training partner PA Training. This is a great opportunity to 'earn while you learn'.
This is a full-time position, with hours from Monday to Friday between 8am – 6pm. Don't worry, you won't be working all week, our contracts are 36 hours per week (4 days) and we will work around any college days.
The role will require the successful candidate to register with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) and Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme. Offers will also be subject to successful enrolment, a process which we will guide you through.
You must be an enthusiastic, friendly individual with a genuine passion for children and an interest in developing a career in childcare.
About the nursery
Flying Colours Nursery Cammo Meadows is our new, purpose built nursery which opened in 2024. Previously based in Barnton, our award-winning independently-run private day nursery has space for 120 children with an age range of nine months to five years. We provide a positive and friendly environment in which enthusiastic, committed and skilled professionals are sure to flourish. Responsibilities
- Assist in the daily care and supervision of children in the nursery, ensuring a safe and nurturing environment.
- Support early childhood education activities, promoting learning through play and interaction.
- Communicate effectively with children, parents, and colleagues to foster strong relationships.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the nursery space, adhering to health and safety standards.
- Follow strict protocols for managing children's allergies, dietary restrictions and medical needs.
- Participate in training and development opportunities, including obtaining necessary qualifications such as SVQ and SSSC.
