About Us:
Oz Tots Nursery School & Forest School is an inclusive, welcoming nursery that has recently relocated to a brand new, purpose-built setting. Our nursery features large, light-filled rooms, a wrap-around garden, vegetable patches for our garden kitchen, a forest school area, and a meadow. We are passionate about outdoor learning and creating an environment where children can explore, grow, and feel supported.
The Role:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Lead SENCO to join our team. You will take a key role in leading the support for children with additional needs, working alongside our educators, families, and external professionals. This is a great opportunity for someone who is passionate about inclusive education and wants to make a lasting difference in the early years sector.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage SEND provision within the nursery
- Support staff with inclusive practices and individual planning
- Work closely with parents and external agencies
- Ensure compliance with the SEND Code of Practice and EYFS
- Monitor and evaluate children’s progress, updating plans as needed
- Provide guidance and training to team members
Requirements:
- SENCO qualification (essential)
- Level 3 qualification in Early Years Education (essential)
- Experience working in an early years setting
- Strong understanding of inclusive practice and SEND legislation
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organisational skills
