Job Title: Night Supervisor
Reports to: General Manager / Reception Manager.
Job Purpose: The safe operation of the Hotel at night. Dealing with guests checking in and out of the Hotel, queries and complaints from guests, answering the phone, service of beverages from the bar, and food from the room service menu.
Main Duties:
- To report to work on time, according to the rota, in the correct uniform in a presentable state, as set out in the staff handbook.
- To ensure that guest satisfaction is paramount at all times. Offer all customers and guests, polite, courteous and friendly service, and be prepared to go out of your way to help a customer – this includes having a general knowledge of all the facilities at the Hotel.
- To always carry a portable hotel phone, ensuring reception know which number you are on
- Always conduct yourself in a professional manner with the utmost discretion at all times.
- To deal with guest arrivals and guest checkouts.
- To “upsell” whenever possible.
- To accurately record any messages for guests and colleagues and ensure they are passed on.
- To assist in the break down and lay up of conference rooms to the required standards for forthcoming events.
- To assist in the initial set up for breakfast service.
- To ensure lights and equipment are turned off – to conserve power - if not required.
- To ensure the building is safe and secure, and to conduct regular walk arounds of the entire property through the night.
- To be fully aware of the Hotel fire and evacuation procedures and your role within this.
- To attend reception meetings if required, partake in fire drills and attend fire training sessions as required.
- To deal with customer complaints and report any incidences to the Manager on duty.
- To adhere to all Hygiene, Health and Safety procedures at all times.
- To assist with porterage if required.
- To report any maintenance issues, and any accidents to the Management.
- To develop and maintain a good working relationship with my colleagues.
- Encourage repeat business and development new business.
- To undertake any other duty which may be reasonably requested by management.
