The role of Night Porter is to enable a seamless customer experience. You will be responsible for ensuring that guests and visitors are welcomed, assisted with their requirements, and advised on any facilities queries. Events are a key aspect of the Porter role; timely set up and smooth running are crucial to our reputation, along with excellent presentation in all public areas.
Porters have a significant responsibility for day-to-day health, safety and wellbeing. You will be expected to support the business and Facilities and Maintenance department in discharging their regulative and legislative duties associated with the estate e.g. Fire Safety and Emergency Procedures, First Aid requirements and timely response to all safety and security issues.
You will have an eye for detail, a professional and respectful demeanour, a high standard of personal presentation and exemplary customer service skills.
Key tasks and Responsibilities
· Ensure internal and external spaces are immaculately presented at all times
· Ensuring guests are welcomed, assisted with requirements and advised on any facilities or local queries
· Ensure customer luggage is delivered to the rooms in a timely manner

· Agree and deliver business service standards through effective training and monitoring of staff within your control.
· Ensure all public areas are flawlessly presented at all times
· Light food preparation and room service duties
· Ensure all events are set up and broken down in a timely manner, liaising and communicating effectively with the Events team
· To support the Senior Porter and Facilities and Maintenance Department to ensure compliance with all regulations and legislative responsibilities associated with the estate
· Practice safe systems of work, ensuring all Swan Hotel and Spa policies and procedures are adhered to at all times
· Timely response to all safety and security issues, ensuring that the hotel is secure on the exit of the evening Duty Manager until the arrival of the morning Duty Manager
· Effective handover of all issues and concerns to the Duty Manager to allow for continuity of service.
