The Role
We are seeking a part-time Night Porter to join the team at The Southcrest Manor Hotel, Redditch. Working hours are 2 nights/16 hours per week, on a rolling rota basis, working 11pm – 7.00am. Ideally applicants will be flexible to work additional shifts to cover holidays. There is also the possibility of additional shifts during the day time in other departments if the candidate requires.
Please note due regulations surrounding the serving of alcohol applicants must be over 18. This role is not a live in position.
Responsibilities:
The Night Manager is responsible for the smooth operation of the hotel overnight, managing the first impressions of our Guests and, therefore, must perform the following tasks to the highest standards:
· Guest Check-in and check-out.
· Serve as a point of contact for guests
· Complete Night Audit duties
· Clean public areas
· Serve food and drink
· Set, lay-up and clean rooms to company standards and guest requirements.
· Overall security of persons and property.
· Manage, record and promptly resolve issues or emergencies that arise
· Compile adequate handover to Early staff / Duty Manager
· Complete all specified shift tasks as per the Night Porter checklist
· Attend appropriate training courses, when required
· Act in accordance with policies and procedures when working with front of house equipment and property management systems
· Conduct Health and Safety Checks and Night Walks, and maintain a good awareness of all hotel areas
· Assist other departments, as necessary
