An exciting opportunity has arisen within North Lanarkshire to be part of a team working in partnership North Lanarkshire Alcohol and Drug Partnership and North Lanarkshire council to provide support to young people who are either currently, or at risk of being, in conflict with the law.

The service aims to:
  • Provide early help and intervention to divert and prevent young people from entering the criminal justice system.
  • Support young people (and their families) already in conflict with the law to navigate processes, systems and agencies, and support them to move away from criminality and undertake positive activities.
  • Rebuild fractured relationships within the family unit.
  • Work with the wider work force to promote a trauma informed response and understanding of underlying causes of criminality.
  • Improve lives of children, young people and families.

Referrals may be received from anywhere in North Lanarkshire including self-referrals and referrals from family members. The service will be available 7 days a week and will include evenings and weekends.
Those considering applying should be a highly motivated, enthusiastic, experienced and able to work on own initiative. Potential candidates should be able to foster positive relationships with partners and agencies within the local authority. An understanding of the risk factors young people is exposed to which may draw them into criminal activity is essential for this role.

We are advertising a 22hour PW2 post. Applicants should have the flexibility to work a rota which includes evenings and weekends. A valid driving license and access to own transport for the purposes of work is essential to the role.
