The Role
The role is for a broker with the Natural Resources Liability team, based in London. You will be responsible for the design and placement of Liability programmes for clients and prospects in the Natural Resources industry. Aspects of the role include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Assist in driving growth of Liability book across all regions
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their insurance needs and ensuring these are fulfilled
- Identify appropriate markets and determine placing strategy
- Manage relationships and negotiate placement with the insurance market
- Participate in information gathering exercises
- Check policies, market presentations and client documentation as appropriate
- Understand changes in client circumstances to ensure that the cover provided continues to match their needs
- Work with Account Executives, the Wordings Team and the Sales Team in determining appropriate solutions and structuring the deal
- Create and grow relationships with underwriters in Lloyd’s, London and international markets
- Ensure ongoing compliance with WTW guidelines and procedures
- Develop and demonstrate proficiency for all relevant systems including Placing Platform Limited (PPL), Document Management System (DMS) and Fair Market Appraisal (FMA).
Qualifications
The Requirements
- Knowledge/experience of the International Liability insurance market
- Experience of placing insurance programmes for clients in the Natural Resources industry helpful
- Preferably educated to degree level or relevant industry experience.

- Strong communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced and dynamic team environment where lateral thinking, initiative, and decision-making skills are crucial
- Attention to detail
- Ability to assimilate and apply large volumes of information rapidly
- Comfortable explaining complex concepts and making recommendations to clients/client servicing teams
- Ability to prioritise, manage deadlines and work under pressure
- Skilled at building effective relationships, at all levels, with clients, prospects, associates, insurers and external specialists
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a wider team
- Good presentation abilities
- Must be prepared to work with integrity and openness, complying at all times with FCA requirements.
