The Details:
What exactly you will be doing…
- Serving guests at a wide range of events from weddings to conferences, product launches, drinks receptions and other special events
- Setting up and packing down event spaces
- Learn and retain knowledge of Banquet Event Orders and event setup standards
- Learn and retain food beverage menu knowledge
- Take and deliver food and beverage orders
- Use excellent communication skills with guests, staff, including verbal, written and body language
- Maintain a clean, hygienic and organised work environment, including stocking of supplies, polishing cutlery/glassware, folding napkins, cleaning menus, sanitising tables, etc.
- Clear tables and carry plates to the dishwashing area
- Prepare basic beverages
- Enthusiastically describe details of food dishes and beverages at the time of delivery to guests
- The ME assistant must execute fabulous guest service and be a team player!
Key Skills Required
- Lift and carry 15kgs, carry and balance plates and cocktail trays on a regular and frequent basis
- Stand for periods of 8-10 hours
- Work with others in a team, while constantly advocating for your guests
- Ability to communicate clearly in verbal and written English
- Comply with all Health Safety procedures, as well as Scottish Licensing Laws
- Maintain a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance per hotel standards
- Bend, squat and stretch in areas of limited space to perform, cleaning, organisation and other duties
- Adhere to hotel policies, including but not limited to attendance, safety and behaviour
- Ability to work a fully flexible shift pattern
Background must-have:
- Current, legal and unrestricted right to work in the United Kingdom
- High school or equivalent education required.
- Preferred: 1-2 years’ experience in a guest-facing hospitality role.
