NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK employing around 40,000 staff in a wide range of clinical and non-clinical professions and job roles. We deliver acute hospital, primary, community and mental health care services to a population of over 1.15 million and a wider population of 2.2 million when our regional and national services are included.
This is a fixed term position for 12 months working full time hours (40), these hours will be worked Monday to Friday with weekend and on call/overnight work pattern.
The successful candidate will provide consultant services in both in-patient and out-patient settings at Glasgow Royal Infirmary (GRI) and Stobhill ACH (SACH).
Responsibilities include acute medical receiving, on-call rota participation, and weekend acute medical receiving and in-patient ward cover.
Sub-specialty outpatient clinics and a virtual clinic to support the lung cancer service will also form key responsibilities of this role.
This role offers an opportunity to contribute to a modern consultant-led service. Applicants must have full GMC registration and a licence to practice. UK-trained candidates should have evidence of training leading to CCT or CESR eligibility or be within 6 months of entry from the interview date. Non-UK applicants must show equivalent training. A valid driving licence is preferred.
