As Maths assistant your role will involve:
- To support students on pure maths at secondary level, GCSE and A level
- To engage in worksheet study if the instructor deems necessary
- To attend training sessions as and when required
- observing and guiding students as they complete their Kumon work
- To help set up and clear away classroom at the beginning and end of each class
- To accurately mark and record students' work
- Maintain discipline in class
- To update student attendance register
- To liaise with parents/ give feedback, take messages
Key Skills Required for the Role:
- Sound communication skills
- Strong grasp of maths up to degree level concepts like negative numbers, simultaneous equations, factorisation, quadratic equations, quadratic and exponential functions etc.
- Proactive, ability to pick up processes quickly and implement them efficiently
- Experience of Kumon desirable but not necessary
Full training will be provided. DBS clearance is essential, costs have to be borne by candidate.
