We are now delighted to welcome applications for the role of Manufacturing Team Leader,we are looking for a highly organised, credible, proactive Manufacturing Team Leader to lead the Mechanical Fitting team to ensure the execution of the production plan for the department ensuring that high quality components are produced that meet the expectations of PPT Group Customers.
Reporting into the Operations Manager you will act as the responsible person in charge ensuring that all departmental procedures, H&S policies, Safe Working Procedures are followed. You will be responsible for leading, developing and supporting all personnel to achieve departmental and personal targets and producing a high quality of work in all areas of responsibility and in line with the PPT Company Values. Work proactively and collaboratively with all colleagues and interested parties to ensure that we create a workplace culture that makes PPT Group a great place to work.
Some of the Responsibilities of the role are:
- To ensure the highest standard of QMS Processes and Procedures are in place to meet the relevant quality standards, working closely with the Quality Manager.
- To ensure all Non-Conformances are processed through the NCR System and being acted on quickly to ensure 'root cause management' is delivered in full and that replacement stock where needed, is on time and not threatening the weekly plan, liaising with external departments.
- To monitor job progress and deliver quality products in accordance with the production plan.
- To ensure accurate and timely bookings of Instruments and Assemblies onto the MRP system.
- To ensure that everyone works safely and be responsible for all H&S requirements within the department and to carry out risk assessments where required.
- To be responsible for the training and development of all manufacturing Staff to provide a suitably trained and flexible team.
- To be responsible for updating the competency matrices as appropriate alongside the Operations Manager.
- To identify and lead improvements and to contribute to cross functional initiatives.
- To ensure that all KPI targets are met and continuously improved upon. Completing weekly data on KPI performance.
- Undergo training to competent Fire Marshall and First aider.
Employment & Educational Background
- The ideal candidate will have a proven experience in a Team Leader/Supervisor role, preferably managing diverse skill sets.
- Previous experience in Manufacturing/Engineering environment is essential.
- The ideal candidate will be an Apprentice trained Mechanical/Electrical Engineer or have equivalent experience.
- A good level of understanding of a Master Production Schedule driven environment.
- A good level of PC experience is required, including MRP systems (AX2012, Oracle, SAP), Word and Excel.
- The ideal candidate should be educated to a minimum of HNC level or have the equivalent demonstrable experience.
- Ideally possess or working towards a Management Qualification at Level 4 or above.
- Ideally the candidate could hold a relevant H&S qualification i.e. IOSH, NEBOSH etc.
