We’re excited to be hiring for a Manufacturing Supervisor in the life sciences sector. This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll guide a team of technicians to deliver high-quality production outputs in a regulated lab environment. About the Role
As Manufacturing Supervisor, you'll lead the daily operations of diagnostic kit and component production, ensuring that safety, quality, and efficiency targets are consistently met. You’ll be responsible for mentoring a skilled team, maintaining compliance with GMP and SOPs, and contributing to the continuous improvement of manufacturing workflows. This is a key role in supporting team performance and ensuring production timelines are met, while also deputising for the Head of Manufacturing when required.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise day-to-day manufacturing of ELISA products and components
- Schedule and coordinate team activities to meet deadlines
- Maintain high standards of safety, quality, and regulatory compliance (GMP, GLP)
- Monitor production metrics and report on performance
- Support equipment upkeep, materials management, and workflow optimisation
- Train and develop team members in lab techniques and operational best practice
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Quality, R&D, and Supply Chain teams
- Lead on issue resolution, process troubleshooting, and audit readiness
- Champion continuous improvement and foster a high-performing team culture
- Act as deputy to the Head of Manufacturing when needed
About You
We're looking for someone with a mix of technical expertise and people leadership experience. You’ll have worked in a lab or manufacturing environment and are confident in GMP standards. You’ll enjoy leading and developing others and have a problem-solving mindset with a focus on delivering results.
Skills & Experience
- Experience in manufacturing operations, ideally in a laboratory setting
- Minimum 2 years in a supervisory or team leadership role
- Knowledge of ELISA manufacturing techniques - Desirable
- Familiarity with GMP, GLP, and quality assurance practices
- Skilled in managing production workflows, metrics, and compliance
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Comfortable with change, continuous improvement, and team development
- Experience with Lean, 5S or Six Sigma is a plus
Salary: £40k - £50k
