Hours of work: 40 Hours per week, Monday – Friday 08.30-16.30. Including on call rota
Rate of Pay: £12.21 to £13.21

As one of the fastest growing providers of Social Housing and Housing Support in Birmingham and the surrounding area Aspire Supported Living are looking to expand their in-house maintenance division.
Aspire Supported Living are a Community Interest Company dedicated to making a difference to the lives of disadvantaged citizens in Birmingham, the surrounding areas and right across the UK.
During this exciting and rapid expansion stage ASL are seeking a committed, enthusiastic and highly self-motivated individual to join the maintenance team.
Responsibilities
Responsible for completing routine repairs and maintenance. Tackling a range of other practical tasks. You will be expected to be versatile with multiple duties and responsibilities including:
PLUMBING
- To resolve basic problems such as installing new taps, sinks and toilets and repairing leaks
ELECTRICAL
- Replace lights and lightbulbs.
- Changing sockets
Carpentry
- Hanging doors including fire doors
- Fixing framework
Repairs and Maintenance
- Changing door barrels , locks and handles
- Repairing damaged window frames
- Replacing tiles
- Laying flooring, carpet and laminate
GARDENING
- Mowing lawns
- Trimming hedges
- Repairing fencing
Qualifications - At least one of the below:
- NVQ Level 2 or higher BTEC/City & Guilds or equivalent.
- Formal apprenticeship or craft trained equivalent
- NIC EIC Qualified / Registered
- Gas Safe Qualified / Registered
- Gardening / Grounds Maintenance
- Skilled Plasterer and General Building
- Carpentry Skills
- Own Van and Tools required

Additional Requirements:
- Full UK Driving licence is essential

- Enhanced DBS Check
The working week will by a standard 40 hours, with on call to be provided ever other week (inc. weekend) for out of hours emergency call outs. Standard rates of pay apply to all on-call work, with the exception of call outs between the hours of 2100 – 0600 when a percentage multiplier shall apply.
Successful applicants are required to provide satisfactory references and complete an enhanced DBS disclosure or provide details for us to complete an update service check against an enhanced DBS certificate (this must be an enhanced application and checked against the Adults Barred list).
