We have a part time role available for a Maintenance assistant & Caretaker who will ensure that Kingscote barn is well always maintained and kept clean and tidy.
As maintenance assistant you will carry out general maintenance tasks across the properties.
As caretaker you will be available on a rota basis to deal with guest issues and assist with deliveries and general tasks around the site.
This role is 3-4 days a week including weekends on a rota basis. Your usual working hours would be 8am-1.30pm each day.
£15 per hour Weekdays and £20 per hour Weekends plus a daily on call retainer for caretaking and you must be available onsite within 20 minutes from call out.
Responsibilities
· Responsible for proactive and reactive repairs of the rooms and venue ensuring a safe and pleasant environment for all guests
· Minor electrical and plumbing work (changing bulbs, unblocking drains, toilet repairs)
· Weekly/monthly checks ensuring all tools are in good working order
· Using own initiative and a keen eye to ensure high standard of cleanliness and maintenance across the estate
· Assisting with Deliveries including moving pots/large items
· Occasional lawn moving and watering required
· Deep cleaning/jet washing outdoor areas
· Assisting grounds and housekeeping team when required
· Litter collecting and outdoor general duties
· Keep accurate records of all maintenance activities
· Management of bin store and refuse process
· On call caretaking responsibility will be required 2 days a week and is shared via a rota
· Liaising with other contractors when specialist work is needed
About you:
- Living locally to Kingscote is an advantage
- Skills including carpentry, electricals, plumbing and painting
- Guest focused with excellent communication skills
- Be willing to work on a shift/rota basis which includes weekends
- You need to be a hands on person, with a keen eye for detail with a proactive approach
- Good knowledge of Health & Safety procedures
- Able to work without supervision
- Clean driving license
Job Types: Part-time, Permanent
Pay: £15.00-£20.00 per hour
