Position Summary

The LO will conduct the planning, execution and tracking of projects/ tasks assigned by the Team Lead, ensuring adherence to deliverables, timelines and budgets. They are to ensure their understanding of project risk, escalating issues to the relevant in a timely manner.


The LO will coordinate resources and teams cross-departments as well as external agencies. They will ensure the communication of information in the appropriate manner using the assured means to provide the appropriate management of assets and capabilities.

Role and Responsibilities

The LO is responsible for the timely and accurate reporting of information internally and externally whilst designing, managing or delivering capability in support of the contract. The LO will ensure that any communication used in the delivery of the contract are in the appropriate format, using the correct means at the appropriate
classification. In the event the LO becomes aware of any communications contrary
to those within the established stakeholder channels, they are to report it to their line manager.

The LO will travel and deploy overseas as part of the role. A checkerboard deployment rotation will be used in to ensure the appropriate levels of LO cover are available to deliver the contract. Whilst deployed on task the LO will receive overseas deployment allowances (in accordance with HMRC), in addition to MAFX’s comprehensive travel and subsistence expenses policy


Skills and Experience

Task Delivery - An LO will see a task through from start to finish, from concept to completion. They will:


Understand the effect required from a task by closely partnering with the customer, and other stakeholders/ partners, to identify, understand and master the full requirement set.

Design a solution utilising all available assets, deconflicting with other areas when required, and ensuring the key deliverables are met.

Execute the solution by deploying with the asset. Using technology and established SOPs, reporting back on progress and ensuring the task is achieved successfully, on schedule and securely.

Problem Solve. If a plan needs to change, deviate, evolve or pause, then the LO will be the person with overall “tactical control” and must be prepared to make an informed decision, often without reach back options.

Monitor. Utilising OSINT tools and other corporate IT systems, act as “rear support” when other colleagues or business units require our expertise in planning, deconfliction, ops support and communication.

Maintain. In some scenarios, we require LOs to deploy from a state of readiness to act within a notice to move period. You must be prepared to do this, in addition to supporting others who will be deployed with the capability.

Desirable Knowledge, Skills, and Experience

Proven experience in operations administration and management ideally with aviation experience and background.

Strong organisational and project management skills, with a track record of overseeing diverse projects.

Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities to collaborate effectively across departments and management levels.

Operational level thinking and problem-solving skills, with the capacity to think quickly and clearly to make informed decisions.

Proficiency in project management software, data analysis tools, and Office 365 productivity suites.

Strong risk assessment background, especially in the aviation sector.

Either holds a security clearance or is suitable and prepared to go through the required security levels.

Experience managing/handling Dangerous Air Cargo. Specifically moving Dangerous Goods (DG) by Air.

Full UK driving licence.

Additional Eligibility Qualifications

Upon appointment in role, the LO candidate will undertake a 6-month probationary period to confirm their sustainability, performance and overall conduct in the position, measured against but not exclusively, the TORs laid out in this document.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time non-exempt position with typical working 37.5 hours a day, Monday to Friday and also weekends where required. Hours and work shifts may change in accordance with department and business needs. Exempt Employees must have the ability to be on-call and available, as business needs require. Non-Exempt employees may be required to work over 37.5 hours per week with approval from the department manager.
