We’re working with a highly regarded regional law firm, recognised in the Legal 500, recruiting an Legal Secretary to join their busy Property Litigation team in Preston. The department advises clients across England and Wales on a broad range of contentious property matters, including landlord and tenant disputes, real estate litigation, and property-related professional negligence claims. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong administrative skills and legal sector experience to join a forward-thinking, award-winning firm.
Responsibilities include:
- Open, close, archive, and update matters in line with firm procedures
- Manage hard copy and electronic files, ensuring all records are accurate and up to date
- Produce documents, copies, and scans as required by fee earners
- Provide support with departmental finance administration, including billing, reporting, and liaising with clients regarding payment of fees
- Monitor compliance with regulatory standards and internal office procedures
- Prepare and issue correspondence under instruction from fee earners
- Attend team meetings and take minutes when requested
- Handle incoming telephone calls and relay messages in a timely, accurate manner
- Manage diaries for team events, including internal meetings and 1:1s
- Arrange meetings for fee earners, including room bookings, car park reservations, and preparation of required documents
What we need from you:
- Previous experience as a Legal Secretary, Legal Assistant, PA, or Administrator within a law firm
