Learner Services Advisor
High Needs Funded, Term Time Only

Main Purpose
To support the successful day-to-day running of the centre by contributing to operations, learning delivery, student support, and safeguarding. This includes providing structured learning support for learners with identified needs and/or Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs), assisting in the implementation of effective interventions, and offering pastoral support to vulnerable learners and/or those at risk. The role works closely with the Senior Learner Services Advisor, Learner Support Manager (LSM)/ Assistant Head of Student Support, to help maintain a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment in line with safeguarding and SEND responsibilities.

Main tasks
- Deliver focused teaching interventions for students with identified support needs or “at risk” learners, including 1:1 learning support, small group and in class support for learners. Managing action plans, caseload contributions, and facilitating individual and group activities.
- Follow agreed lesson plans and devise tailored support strategies, providing feedback and liaising with lecturers under their direction.
- Accurately record all learner support, contacts, and pastoral care in GURU progress logs, contact logs, and pastoral logs.
- Assist the Learner Services Manager (LSM) / Assistant Head in preparing ALS learner profiles and support plans.
- Support the Exam Access Arrangements (EAA) application process by gathering evidence and collaborating with the Senior Learner Services Advisor.
- Manage the Reception area on a rota basis, delivering a professional, customer-focused enquiry and telephone service while maintaining a welcoming, organised, and clean front of house, while ensuring centre access controls, including identity verification and signing-in procedures enforced.
- Assist with the smooth running of the centre through estates, facilities, health & safety support, and general administrative tasks such as mail handling, appointments, filing, and communications.
- Liaise with lecturers, central departments, and associate centres to provide effective administration for learners and staff, including admissions, enrolment, register audits, absence recording, and data reporting.
- Support the Examinations Officer and Exam Coordinators with the admin, invigilation and logistical planning of all exam requirements across the curriculum areas.
- Provide careers support to learners as directed by the Head of Careers.
- To identify and respond to pastoral and low-level safeguarding concerns, escalating and managing them appropriately with the support and guidance of the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL).

- Adhere to all agreed Quality Assurance mechanisms within the campus and across ACC, contributing to the development of high-quality provision and services.
- Participate in the ACC Performance Management Review Scheme, jointly completing agreed objectives and development plans with managers.
- Comply with the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 to ensure the wellbeing of students, staff, and visitors.
