About the roles:
The legal service provides high quality legal advice across several areas of law to include commercial, property, planning and regulatory. The service also supports the administrative framework alongside the governance service ensuring that the council’s dealings are lawful, and decisions are taken correctly.
As lawyers in the commercial and property teams, you will be supporting the Service Manager and Business Partners whilst providing advice to officers and members on statute, case law and policy in all aspects of commercial and residential property law, project work, development work and commercial contracts.
What you will need:
We are seeking two skilled and motivated Lawyers with a strong background in commercial and/or property law to join our legal team. You will provide expert legal advice and support on a wide range of commercial and property related matters, ensuring the council’s interests are protected and its objectives are achieved efficiently and lawfully. Whilst experience of working within a political environment is not essential, the ability to develop strong relationships with colleagues and key stakeholders both internally and externally to make things happen certainly is.
