Highwood Care Home is a brand-new, purpose-built facility in the picturesque and historic port town of Bideford. Our luxury home provides Residential, Dementia, Nursing, and Respite care for 67 residents. With beautifully designed spaces and modern facilities, we create a safe, comfortable, and welcoming environment where residents can feel truly at home.

We are looking for a reliable and detail-oriented Laundry Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will ensure residents’ personal clothing and linen are cared for to the highest standard, maintaining a clean, hygienic, and welcoming environment that supports residents’ wellbeing. Your work will make a real difference to daily life in the home.

What You Will Do
As Laundry Assistant, you will manage residents’ personal clothing and home linen with care, ensuring items are cleaned, maintained, and returned correctly. You will maintain the laundry area to high standards, follow schedules and procedures, and ensure all equipment is safe and in full working order. You will label and check all items, repair or report damaged clothing, and address any issues proactively. You will uphold confidentiality at all times, adhere to all health, safety, and hygiene regulations, and work closely with colleagues to maintain a supportive and efficient environment.

What We’re Looking For
You will be reliable, organised, and attentive to detail, with a positive attitude and commitment to maintaining high standards. Previous experience in laundry or domestic work is desirable, but what matters most is your willingness to contribute to a friendly, efficient, and caring environment for residents. You will be confident working as part of a team and able to use your initiative to ensure smooth laundry operations.
