We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Kitchen Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food preparation and a keen interest in the culinary arts. This role is essential in supporting the kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations and high-quality meal preparation. As a Kitchen Assistant, you will be vital in maintaining food safety standards and assisting with various kitchen tasks.
Duties
- Assist in the preparation of ingredients for cooking, including washing, chopping, and measuring.
- Support chefs in meal preparation by following recipes and instructions accurately.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, ensuring all equipment is properly cleaned and stored.
- Adhere to food safety regulations and hygiene standards at all times.
- Help with the setup and breakdown of catering events as required.
- Assist in inventory management by checking stock levels and reporting shortages.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely service during busy periods.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a kitchen environment or restaurant setting is preferred but not essential.
- Basic knowledge of food safety practices and culinary techniques.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- A positive attitude with a willingness to learn and help others.
