Key Worker with Driving Support Responsibilities
Role Purpose:
To provide practical and emotional support to vulnerable young people, helping them transition to independent living while ensuring safe transportation using the company vehicle. The role involves a combination of direct support, community engagement, and logistical assistance to meet service users' needs.

Key Responsibilities1. Transport & Logistics Support
● Safely drive the company car to transport service users to appointments, education, training, job interviews, and social activities.
● Assist with shopping trips, relocation, and other essential journeys as required.
● Ensure the vehicle is clean, fuelled, and well-maintained, reporting any issues promptly.
● Follow company policies on vehicle use, including mileage logs and safety checks.
2. Direct Support & Key Worker Duties
● Provide 1:1 and group support to help service users develop independent living skills.
● Conduct room checks and assist with move-in preparations (furnishing, setting up utilities).
● Deliver inductions for new service users, including handbook and policy orientation.
● Support service users in accessing benefits, budgeting, and financial management.
3. Safety & Incident Management
● Monitor and address anti-social behaviour (ASB) within the unit.
● Report incidents to safeguarding teams, the duty manager also updates the social service and Ofsted, Police when necessary
● Ensure visitor sign-in/out procedures are followed per health and safety guidelines.
4. Community Engagement & Development
● Encourage service users to engage in employment, education, and social activities.
● Organise and facilitate group workshops (e.g., life skills, tenancy training).
● Build positive relationships with local authorities, families, and support networks.
5. Compliance & Administration
● Update and maintain records (e.g., support plans, vehicle logs, incident and Concern reports).
● Follow safeguarding, health & safety, and COVID-19 protocols.
● Attend mandatory training and stay updated on policy changes.
● Attend both company and assigned young person's professional meetings.
Person Specification
● Full UK driving license (clean or minimal points) and confident driving in urban areas.
● Experience in support work, youth services, or social care (preferred).
● Ability to manage challenging behaviours and follow safeguarding procedures.
● Strong organisational skills for record-keeping and time management.
● Empathetic, patient, and proactive in supporting vulnerable individuals.
Additional Notes
● This role may require flexible hours, including occasional evenings/weekends.
● Mileage and vehicle checks must be logged in line with company policy.

Pay: £24,420.00-£36,489.35 per year
