Job Summary:
We are currently seeking a reliable, hard-working Kennel Hand to join our team. The ideal candidate will be passionate about dogs, physically fit, and committed to maintaining the highest standards of animal care and hygiene.
Key Responsibilities:
- Feeding, grooming, and exercising dogs and puppies
- Cleaning kennels, pens, and other animal housing areas to a high standard
- Monitoring animal health and behaviour, reporting any concerns to senior staff
- Assisting with socialisation and basic training of puppies
- Helping with bathing and preparation of puppies for client viewings or handovers
- Keeping accurate records of feeding, cleaning, and health observations
- Assisting with vet visits and medication administration (training provided)
- Maintaining stock of food, cleaning supplies, and other essentials
- Following all company policies and procedures relating to health, safety, and animal welfare
Requirements:
- Previous experience with dogs or working in a kennel environment preferred but not essential (training provided)
- Strong work ethic and willingness to carry out physically demanding tasks
- Good time management and attention to detail
- Confidence in handling dogs of various breeds, sizes, and temperaments
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Flexibility to work weekends and public holidays on a rota basis
- Reliable transport to our rural location in North East Fife
