Make a difference, empowering the futures of young people with learning disabilities.

As a Job Coach, you'll play a vital role in helping young people obtain valuable experience and qualifications, and encouraging them towards sustainable and meaningful employment. You will work within both Lifeworks College and Lifeworks Day Services.

You'll partner with our existing Job Coach, collaborating with interns, service users, employers, and the rest of our team to provide personalised support. Your work will be crucial in breaking down barriers and celebrating every success.

Who we are:

Since 1996, we've been empowering people with learning disabilities in Devon to achieve their dreams and build fulfilling lives. Our core values of kindness, respect, and positivity guide everything we do.

What you’ll do:

- Empower individuals: provide personalised support to help interns reach their full potential, building their confidence and skills
- Forge strong partnerships: develop and maintain professional relationships with employers, advocating for the people we support and breaking down barriers
- Promote inclusivity: champion inclusivity and equality, and set a positive example for others
- Ensure effective support: collaborate with your colleagues to deliver tailored support that meets the specific needs of each person and their work placements
- Monitor progress and provide feedback: track intern progress, conduct regular assessments, and offer constructive feedback to drive improvement
- Deliver training and coaching: provide training where required and support with coaching and mentoring to equip interns with the necessary skills and knowledge to succeed

Working hours:

As a Job Coach, you will work 22.5 hours over 3 days per week during term time (38 weeks per year). The hours for this role are 08.30-16.30.

What we're looking for:

- You will have a good level of education and be proficient in IT (specifically Microsoft packages)
- You’ll hold a Level 3 Job Coaching qualification (or be willing to work towards one) and an Information, Advice and Guidance qualification (or significant experience of coaching and mentoring young people with learning disabilities)
- Experience working with learning disabilities and young people with complex/challenging behaviours (preferably in an educational setting)
- Experience working 1:1 in a similar role, including a strong background in generating and maintaining work placements and building professional relationships with employers
- Strong communication abilities, a keen attention to detail, and organisational skills are a must. You will also be practical and take a methodical approach to tasks
- You will need to hold a full driving licence for this role, and be able to drive a college minibus when required
- Most importantly, you must be passionate about supporting individuals with learning disabilities

- A fully funded DBS check and update service to ensure a smooth onboarding process
- Access valuable resources, including an employee assistance programme to support your mental and emotional health
