A global market leader headquartered in the Northwest is seeking a Technical Trainer to join its dynamic IT team. As the organisation undergoes a significant digital transformation, this role will be central to ensuring employees across the business extract maximum value from new tools, systems, and platforms.
You’ll be part of a collaborative, forward-thinking team, shaping how technical knowledge is delivered and consumed across the UK and Europe, and supporting learning globally through innovative training approaches. Based in Warrington, with travel to other locations as needed, this is a unique opportunity to play a hands-on role in the implementation of enterprise-level solutions.
What You Will Be Doing
You’ll be designing, developing, and delivering high-impact technical training programmes in a variety of formats—virtual, in-person, and digital. You’ll work closely with subject matter experts, product teams, and stakeholders to craft tailored learning experiences, ensuring content remains relevant, engaging, and aligned to business goals.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Curriculum Development: Creating training plans, course outlines, and engaging learning materials.
- Training Delivery: Running live training sessions, workshops, and webinars across multiple geographies.
- Needs Assessment: Analysing skill gaps and tailoring programmes to address business requirements.
- Content Creation: Developing eLearning, user guides, and other multimedia training assets.
- Assessment & Evaluation: Measuring training impact through feedback, testing, and performance reviews.
- Staying Current: Keeping up with the latest tools, platforms, and digital training methods.
- Collaboration: Working cross-functionally with SMEs, product owners, and internal teams to ensure training is fit-for-purpose.
- User Support: Acting as a point of contact for technical training support and troubleshooting.
- Security Training: Supporting the Information Security team with awareness initiatives and compliance tracking.
You’re an experienced trainer with a strong technical background and a passion for helping others learn and succeed. You have the confidence to work independently, the communication skills to engage diverse teams, and the organisational mindset to manage multiple projects across locations.
Essential Skills & Competencies:
- Proven experience in a training role, preferably with a technical or IT focus.
- Comfortable working with technical tools and systems.
- Willingness and ability to travel (Full driving licence required).
- Strong planning, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft 365 (Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio) and Adobe Photoshop.
- A recognised training certification (e.g., A1 Assessor or equivalent).
- Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities.
- Able to translate complex technical concepts for non-technical audiences.
- Confident in presenting and facilitating discussions.
- Flexible, proactive, and eager to continuously improve.
- Good business awareness across functions such as IT, HR, Finance, and Operations.
