Job purpose
The Technical department provides a critical bridge between Sales and Production. Responsible for the delivery of technical support for the company’s manufacturing process, to assist in all aspects of production to ensure efficient running of material and products. Work closely with, Sales, Cell Managers, Production Planning and maintenance staff, to ensure finished products meets customer requirements and quality standards.
Duties and responsibilities
Technical Support
- Provide operators with correct product specifications and machine calculations within the Production departments using tools such as Radan and Solidworks (no experience required)
- Provide support to operators over specification queries.
- Liaise with Production Scheduling and Cell Managers to aid on product/orders timescales (ECZ, Z Line, Cranking and Curving).
- Assist QA in Root Cause Analysis and corrective/preventative measures.
- Provide 2nd line technical customer support.
Improve Business Processes
- Continually evaluate all aspects of technical support to ensure the correct level of support is provided to production. In doing so, enhance the quality of product and machine utilisation that in turn will support TPP’s business objectives.
- Measure and report performance against the agreed indicators, in order to support and improve production capabilities.
- Provide project assistance where required to support the Head of Technical Business Development.
Maintain Efficient Systems
- Assist in the creating of robust systems and processes to support efficient production operations and quality checks. Continually look to improve such systems regarding efficiency, effectiveness, accuracy and safety.
- Encourage operators to use best practice techniques to ensure safe and efficient working on machines.
- Regularly liaise with Cell Managers on production improvements.
- Maintain the correct systems to provide a safe environment in line with the Health & Safety at Work 1974 Act. Implement SSOW (Safe Systems of Work) and JSA’s (Job Safety Analysis) an integral part of employee training and development.

Terms of Employment
Hours: Basic hours are Monday to Thursday 8:00 – 17:00 & Friday 08:00 – 16:00
Pay: £25,500 per annum
Holiday: Our holiday calendar runs run from January to December and we offer 23 days plus national bank holidays. If you start work part way through the company’s leave year, the initial holiday entitlement is based on the period from that date until the leave year ends.
Health care scheme: We provide a primary health care scheme for all those employed for more than 3 months.
