We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented IT Assistant to join our team at Hartwell. The IT Assistant will provide essential support to our IT team and assist in maintaining the company's hardware, software, and network infrastructure. The ideal candidate should have a passion for technology, strong problem-solving skills, and a willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Technical Support: Provide first-level technical support to employees, including troubleshooting hardware and software issues, printer problems, and network connectivity.
  • Hardware Maintenance: Assist in the setup, installation, and maintenance of computers, laptops, printers, and other hardware equipment.
  • Software Support: Help users with software installations, updates, and basic software-related inquiries. Collaborate with the IT team for more complex software issues.
  • Network Assistance: Support network operations by assisting in network configuration, cable management, and ensuring network availability.
  • Inventory Management: Maintain accurate records of IT assets, including hardware and software licenses. Order and manage as needed.
  • Documentation: Create and update IT documentation, including user guides, troubleshooting procedures, and inventory lists.
  • Security Compliance: Assist in implementing and enforcing IT security policies and procedures, including user account management and password resets.
  • User Training: Provide basic training to employees on IT systems and tools.
  • Assist in Projects: Collaborate with the IT team on various IT projects, such as system upgrades, migrations, and infrastructure enhancements.

Qualifications:

  • Proven interest in information technology and a willingness to learn.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
  • Basic knowledge of hardware and software troubleshooting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Attention to detail and organisational skills.
  • Ability to lift and carry computer equipment as needed.
