Job Role: HR Advisor and Administrator

Role Overview:
This role would suit an individual who has a passion for people and who wishes to be a key player in positively driving the company’s culture whilst actively involved in individual and teams training and development. This role would suit an individual that has had hands-on HR experience at Advisor level who is confident at providing practical, business focused advice to managers at all levels. This role will contribute to the successful delivery of Navara Oat Milling’s Human Resources function through supporting and reflecting the company’s culture, core values, aims and objectives. The role will be accountable for ensuring the company always adheres to recruitment legislation and legalities, creating and implementing employee retention strategies, and taking a lead in colleague engagement activities, attracting, engaging and retaining the best talent. The individual will be great at building strong lasting relationships, have a professional and flexible attitude and the ability to work well under pressure, juggling multiple projects at the same time.
Key Behaviours and Skills:

- At least 12 months experience of hands-on HR generalist delivery at Advisor level and/or CIPD Level 5 qualified

- Previous HR administration experience in a busy environment

- Strong recruitment and onboarding experience
- Exposure in recruitment legalities and documentation
- Good basic understanding of UK employment law and best practices
- Good organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple scenarios at the same time
- Ability to provide sound HR guidance/coaching/advice to line managers as appropriate
- Strong exposure to disciplinary and grievance related meetings/strong note taking ability
Key Responsibilities:
- Create and maintain company processes and policies alongside the Head of HR
- Build and maintain positive, strong relationships with the management team working closely to drive all HR functions
- Deliver confidently HR advice whilst coaching and mentoring good practice with all managers and colleagues
- Manage and co-ordinate company recruitment campaigns, ensuring they are proactively monitored during the advertising period, working closely with managers to take action where applications received are few in number or of poor quality, ensuring all jobs are advertised on company profile pages and all visual displays are in line with current company brand guidelines
- Explore different routes of marketing/advertising roles and attracting potential candidates
- Create and maintain HR tracking documents
- Provide information and support the team with payroll administration, including pension paperwork, new starters and leaver records, salary increases, address changes, maternity and paternity leave, sickness, holiday and other information as required
- Support with note taking and recording of disciplinary/grievance outcomes
- Promote company values and beliefs at every opportunity
- Arranging interviews, liaising with line managers and candidates; booking rooms, preparing interview schedules and issuing supporting paperwork and documentation
- Notifying successful candidates by email at the conclusion of each recruitment campaign, dealing with requests for interview feedback and ensuring successful conclusion of recruitment campaigns
- Manage and reduce recruitment costs by creating a preferred list of suppliers (agencies)
- Co-ordinate and participate in the induction process / new starter journey colleagues throughout the company, including the issue of correct personnel documents, IT resources, uniform, PPE, office furniture and equipment, company vehicles, credit cards, accommodation and travel etc. as required
- To manage colleagues through the company probationary periods, liaising with appropriate management
- To take ownership of employment legalities such as right to work documentation and probationary period process and review
- Support strategic HR projects and succession planning
- To continually assess employee retention strategies to keep colleague morale high and turnover low, leading reviews across onboarding and orientation, mentorship programmes, recognition and reward systems, work-life balance, training and development, communication and feedback, dealing with change, fostering teamwork and team celebration
- To facilitate colleague feedback and focus groups
- Assist and support with monthly management reporting and presentations
- Creating and maintaining local community links to ensure Navara Oat Milling Ltd is regarded as a destination employer
- To build relationships with schools, colleges, and universities, attending open days and promoting internships, graduate opportunities and apprenticeships
- To attend recruitment fayres
- Create and maintain up to date and accurate staff files on electronic system/s
- Liaison with HR to re-energise staff, identify skill gaps, and organise legal refreshers
- Research, propose and implement company morale activities in line with department budget
- Assist with company communication ensuring all colleagues have access to company policies and procedures
- Assist with delivering training to company colleagues
- Comply with data protection guidelines
- Involvement in all company initiatives that drive our team SPIRIT
