Role Overview
The Hall is required to maintain a high level of occupancy of all facilities and in addition to the residential and non-residential courses and conference business the Hall actively promotes wedding receptions, catering events, individual bed and breakfast accommodation and social events.
Role Purpose
The housekeeping assistant(s) provide cleaning services within the on-site accommodation rooms provided at the Hall for visitors, delegates, etc. They are responsible for the return of rooms to the required standard of cleanliness and arrangement. Done well, this service provides accommodated guests with a sense of reassurance that the Hall is committed to their stay being pleasant and comfortable.
Unsatisfactory performance in this area will inevitably detract from visitors’ impressions and could feasibly damage the business’s viability.
The housekeepers have no line management or budgetary responsibilities. They are provided with instruction on the standards expected. They are expected to report issues to the Housekeeping Manger and/or Housekeeping Supervisor. They will normally not be expected to handle problems independently. They are responsible for an appropriate use of supplies and bringing equipment and supply issues to management.
Responsibilities
- Perform thorough cleaning of guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces to ensure cleanliness and hygiene standards are met.
- Change bed linens, towels, and other amenities as required.
- Dust, vacuum, and mop floors to maintain a pristine appearance throughout the premises.
- Restock supplies in guest rooms and common areas as needed.
- Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to management promptly.
- Assist with laundry duties when necessary to ensure an adequate supply of clean linens.
- Uphold the highest standards of customer service by responding to guest requests in a friendly and efficient manner.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in housekeeping or a similar role within the hospitality industry is preferred but not essential.
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication skills with a focus on customer service.
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn new skills related to housekeeping practices.
